Hip Navigation
We are proud to announce the adoption of Computer Navigation to Anterior Hip Replacement surgery at Humber River Hospital.  Using a special camera and computer, surgeons are now able to more precisely track leg lengths and hip position during the procedure.  Surgeons are able to use this camera by using only two tiny incisions (each 1/4 of an inch in size) over the opposite pelvis during the procedure.  The hip replacement is then performed as usual through the anterior approach.  At the time of this writing, Humber River Hospital is the only public hospital in Canada to boast this Canadian technology for anterior hip replacements.      We are proud to partner with Intellijoint Surgical in this endeavour.  Thus far we have performed a few hundred cases using this high tech equipment and going strong!
